Overview

QuikClot® Combat Gauze LE is a kaolin-impregnated wound packing gauze designed for rapid bleeding control in trauma situations. It provides the same hemostatic performance as the military Combat Gauze in a compact Z-folded format that allows controlled application during wound packing. The dressing also incorporates a radiopaque marker so it can be easily identified on X-ray imaging during follow-up medical care.

How It Works
Combat Gauze LE combines nonwoven hydrophilic gauze with kaolin, an inorganic mineral that activates the body’s natural clotting cascade when it contacts blood. When packed firmly into a bleeding wound and combined with direct pressure, the gauze helps promote rapid clot formation while filling the wound channel.

The Z-folded configuration allows the dressing to feed smoothly from the package during application. This helps maintain control during wound packing and reduces the chance of the gauze falling away or becoming contaminated. The built-in radiopaque marker allows the dressing to be detected by X-ray if necessary during later medical evaluation.
