How It Works
Combat Gauze combines nonwoven hydrophilic gauze with kaolin, an inorganic mineral that activates the body’s clotting cascade when it contacts blood. As the gauze is packed into the wound and pressure is applied, the kaolin promotes rapid clot formation while the gauze structure fills the wound channel and supports compression.

The Z-folded configuration allows the gauze to feed smoothly from the package during application. This format helps prevent the dressing from falling away or becoming contaminated during wound packing. The dressing also incorporates a radio-opaque strip, allowing medical personnel to identify the gauze on X-ray imaging if needed during later treatment.
