Overview
Severe bleeding can become life-threatening within minutes if it is not controlled quickly. Wound packing combined with sustained pressure is one of the most effective methods for managing deep or irregular bleeding injuries. Hemostatic gauze improves this process by supporting the body’s clotting response while filling the wound cavity.

ChitoGauze® XR PRO is a chitosan-impregnated hemostatic gauze designed to control moderate to very severe hemorrhage. The dressing behaves like traditional gauze during packing but incorporates a hemostatic agent to assist rapid clot formation. It also includes a radio-opaque strip that allows the dressing to be identified on X-ray imaging if the patient later receives advanced medical care.

How It Works
ChitoGauze XR PRO functions as a wound packing dressing that combines mechanical compression with a hemostatic agent. When packed firmly into a bleeding wound, the gauze fills the injury channel while direct pressure is applied over the site.

The chitosan integrated throughout the gauze helps support clot formation as blood contacts the dressing. Because the hemostatic agent is fully impregnated within the fibers rather than added as loose powder or granules, the dressing maintains structural integrity during application. The gauze is Z-folded inside a sterile package so it feeds smoothly during wound packing. A built-in radio-opaque strip allows medical personnel to detect the dressing on X-ray if required during later treatment.
